A Pumpkin Spice A Day Keeps The Patriarchy Away
Behind the Design
Growing up I celebrated many of the traditions that come with Christianity. At least, I thought they came from Christianity. Learning history, I discovered most holidays were redesigned from Pagan practices in order to convert more people more easily, while demonizing Pagan religions.
Well, as it turns out, it's just as easy to follow the traditions back to their Pagan roots to find a very wholesome and strong community. The term, "Witch" has so much more of a positive resonance to it.
Pumpkin Spice, for example, made of cloves, ginger, mace, nutmeg and cinnamon is a combination of flavors and smells that were used to purify and protect one's self from negative energies and harm that came with the coming of Samhain (Halloween).
So if you enjoy a Pumpkin Spice late? Know that you are drinking an elixir of protection with roots predating Christianity. This is old magic
