Behind the Design

Dyslexia is a b*tch. In case you read it wrong above. If you did read it wrong you're probably dyslexic.

I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was 8, but I may have well not been at all for how much a diagnosis helped me. I knew why I was making so many mistakes, but I couldn't seem to stop making those mistakes no matter how much I would read something over and over again.

It is debilitating and people who don't have dyslexia really don't understand what it's like. I don't know what it's like to have to use a wheel chair, but you don't see me getting mad at them for not taking the stairs. Not that wheelchair needs and dyslexia are in any way comparable, I just want to try to illustrate a point.

Just making this design was a pure headache for me!! "It's just letters" I kept telling myself "should be easy" I kept gaslighting myself. This design was a war in my mind, the likes of which only other dyslexics would understand. At one point I wondered why no one else has made a design like this, and I realized during the war of my brain and my hand why it didn't exist yet.
